Vietnam’s weather varies by region. The north (Hanoi) is cool and pleasant from November to March, with temperatures around 15°C to 22°C.
Central regions like Danang are warmer, averaging 25°C to 30°C, making it ideal for beach visits. Light rain can occur, so it’s best to pack a mix of light and warm clothing.

Currency and Credit Cards
The currency in Vietnam is the Vietnamese Dong (VND). While some tourist spots may quote prices in US dollars, all transactions are officially conducted in Dong.
ATMs are easily available in major cities like Hanoi, Danang, and Ho Chi Minh City, and Visa and MasterCard are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants, and shopping centers. However, it’s wise to keep some local cash for street markets, taxis, and rural areas.
1 USD ≈ 24,500 VND (as of October 2025)
Telephone Communications
When traveling to Vietnam, the country code is +84. To call Vietnam from abroad, dial the code before the local number. It’s recommended to activate international roaming or buy a local SIM card from providers like Viettel, Mobifone, or Vinaphone for smooth and affordable communication during your stay.
Dress Code for Visiting Religious Sites in Vietnam
When visiting temples, pagodas, and other religious sites in Vietnam, it’s important to dress modestly and show respect for local traditions:
Men: Should wear long pants and shirts that cover the shoulders. Avoid sleeveless tops and shorts.
Women: Should cover shoulders and knees. Wearing light, loose-fitting clothing is ideal. Avoid revealing or tight outfits.
Footwear is usually removed before entering temple interiors, so wearing easy-to-slip-off shoes is recommended. While some temples may offer shawls at the entrance, it’s always best to carry your own scarf or wrap to maintain cultural respect.
